How to make Logos in inkscape

How to make Logos in Inkscape

Have you ever wondered how logos are made?  How long they take or how fun it is to design them? If you haven't you definitely need to see whats in store today I'll show you how to make a logo with some software called Inkscape, Inkscape is a vector program that can been used in wide variety of art and it can be scaled to any size. An alternative to Inkscape is Illustrator CS6 - the company that made PhotoShop, the difference to illustrator is that it doesn't cost $1,000 and its opened source and free.

To start off with a logo you need a company name i'm going to do 123technology after you have that you need to figure out what fonts you want to use. There's a lot of different fonts you use but you need to have a commercially available font to use and because of this there's not as many online but I found a site called Fontsquirrel.com it lets you use free commercial fonts. You can use the fonts for anything.Highlight the text by pressing t and go to the text button at the top to choose a font.

Now I am going to add some more detailswhat I'm are going to do about the details is to add a graphic that can be recognized by the company:

I'm going to draw a 3D circle, use the color palette below to find a good color, after that what you want to do next is select the circle and press the right button on your mouse, then look down the menu bar in till you find the duplicate button, you want to shrink the outer left and right edges of the duplicate and bring it in by pressing shift and holding. Choose a lighter color. This is going to be a gradient for the circle to make it 3D. From there press g to go to gradient, click the gradient editor to edit the gradient, this will add depth to the circle. Click on the pen tool to create a line, after you have finished the line you can click on the nodes tool to edit it.
