They're a lot of tools in Inkscape. I'm going to explain the ones I know
1. The first tool is the selection tool, you can select an object and tilt it or resize it
2. The next tool is the node tool, if you draw a line and want to edit it you would click this

5. To make a square click this, drag the corners if you want a rounded square
6. Make a 3d square
7. Make a circle, press the control key to make it perfectly round
8. This is the star tool, you can select how many points the star has
9. You can make swirls with this tool

12. The calligraphy tool
13. The typing tool
14. The spray can tool
15. The eraser tool
16. The fill tool
17. You edit the Gradients with this tool
